RE: Mandatory Vaccinations
Dear Levante Living Residents and Family Members,
I want to take this opportunity to express my sincere appreciation to each of you and to all our family members for your diligence and patience during the last year as we have battled COVID-19 together. It’s been incredibly inspiring to see how the Levante team and our residents have continued to thrive despite some big obstacles.
As you know, we have been working alongside you, taking COVID-19 preventive measures to help keep you, your loved ones, and the team that serves you, safe. We have worked under some uncertain and often stressful conditions, and you have helped make it possible for us to continue our essential operations. Together, we’ve done an amazing job throughout the pandemic!
With the fall and winter months upon us, COVID-19 continues to pose a risk to our communities. For this reason, along with other senior living care providers like Revera, Chartwell, Sienna and Extendicare, Levante is announcing today that we are making COVID-19 vaccination mandatory for all its staff.
As of October 12, 2021, all Levante Living team members will need to provide proof of full vaccination. Vaccination will also be required for all new hires, agency personnel and volunteers.
Making this policy is one we have thought deeply about. Following our principles of putting health and safety first, we feel this will go a long way toward continuing to protect the people we care for, as well as our co-workers and visiting friends and family members.

Levante Living COVID-19 Response
Message from President and CEO Mike Petersen
Across the retirement living sector, Covid-19 has continued to challenge residents, team members and families in 2021. Despite these challenges and through rigorous infection control and vaccination programs, Levante Living was able to achieve outstanding outcomes through the third wave of Covid-19. We experienced two outbreaks with a combined total of 4 positive team member cases during the third wave. Through continued education and leadership support for access to vaccines, 85% of Levante Living team members and 95% of residents have received at least one dose of and approved Covid-19 vaccine. Due to high vaccination rates among residents and team members, there were no lost lives and zero resident cases in the second quarter of 2021. As a result of these outstanding vaccination rates and with the guidance of public health, safe family visits, re-opening of dining rooms and programming have resumed across our residences. We are incredibly proud of the commitment and tenacity of our front line teams as they have work tirelessly to keep our residents safe.
